Möbius syndrome consists of a unilateral or bilateral congenital paralysis of the VI and VII cranial pars associated with facial and orthopedic alterations. Transient fetal ischemia, environmental and genetic factors are important causes. Misoprostol is the active principle of Cytotec®, a drug used for the treatment of peptic ulcer that acts on uterine contractility when used during pregnancy. This study aimed to describe the main clinical features of Möebius Syndrome, reporting a case emphasizing facial and orthopedic changes, as well as drawing attention to the association of misoprostol use during the first trimester of pregnancy as an important etiological factor of this condition.
