The Ponseti technique for the treatment of congenital clubfoot has been recognized as the most effective. Treatment should begin as early as possible and consists of manipulation and application of plastered appliances weekly, lasting approximately seven weeks, correcting the cavus first, followed by adduction, while maintaining the hindfoot in equinus. Finally, the equinus deformity is corrected using percutaneous Achilles tendon tenotomy. To maintain the correction and avoid recurrence, the Denis Browne orthosis is used.
